Nurses from Good Samaritan Hospital recently participated in their third consecutive year of Team Habitat builds. They brought volunteer groups out on April 16th and 22nd to two different neighborhoods currently under construction.
The first volunteer group finished up interior paint work on the nearly complete 5-bedroom home at Swan Creek Lane in Tacoma. The second group did flooring and trim work at a 3-bedroom home at Tillicum Oaks in Lakewood.
One volunteer, Shelby Metzenberg, participated in both build days as well as build days in years past.
When asked why she participates in Team Habitat builds, Shelby told us “I just really enjoy it. I value knowing that I can help build a home for a family that really needs it”
Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity is thankful for partners like Good Samaritan Hospital that continue to support the Team Habitat program as well as for the volunteers that keep coming back!
