Welcome NCCC Gold Team!

Get ready to see nine new AmeriCorps members serving at our sites!

The National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) Gold Two Team, Class XXI will serve at the Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity construction sites from January 20 through March 18.

NCCC is an AmeriCorps program that strengthens communities and develops leaders through team-based community service. Each NCCC Team partners with nonprofits throughout the country to complete service projects in the regions they are assigned.

The Team just completed two months of service in Death Valley doing trail work.

Here’s your chance to get to know the team before you see them on site!

Nick Gilgenbach, 23

Nick is from Viroqua, Wisconsin. He was a Corps member last year in Class XX and decided to come back as a Team Leader this year. He likes to play Ultimate Frisbee, read, and spend time outside. He hopes to improve his knowledge of construction and grow as a leader.

Lindsey Bycroft, 18

Lindsey is from Kenosha, Wisconsin. She just graduated from the Wisconsin National Guard Challenge Academy before joining AmeriCorps. She enjoys music, spending time with friends and family, and quality time to herself. She hopes to get more experience and hopes to grow a relationship with a family she serves.

 

Hector Ordeno Arguelles Agezl, 21

Hector is from Yuma, Arizona. He worked with the disabled before joining AmeriCorps. He enjoys hiking, working, and taking walks. He hopes to get the skills he needs for a good job out of this project.

 

Erik Pantaleo, 20

Erik is originally from Guatemala and lives currently in St Louis, Missouri. He recently graduated high school. He likes drawing, swimming, and being outdoors. He hopes to get experience and to push himself.

 

Michelle Lyon, 21

Michelle is from Sheridan, Wyoming. She worked at Subway before coming to the program. She likes bird watching, hunting, and watching movies. She hopes to get more good pictures and a good experience out of this project.

Sophie Hillmeyer, 19

Sophie is from Duluth, Minnesota. She worked as a nanny and just got out of High School. She enjoys running, the forest, and chocolate. She hopes to get construction skills and the satisfaction of helping a family in need.

 

Darren Goins Jr.

Darren is from Greensboro, North Carolina. He worked in food prep as well as handling marketing for several family owned businesses.  He is a natural born leader; he is also CPR, First Aid, and Forklift Certified and is a Notary for the state of North Carolina.

Nick D’Intino, 24

Nick is a recent graduate from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. He hopes to attend graduate school and pursue a career in Disaster Management. He enjoys good food, art, movies and music. While working with Habitat for Humanity in Tacoma, Nick wants to learn the basics of the individual tasks required to build a house.
