Nearly 100 community members gathered together on a rare sunny January afternoon to celebrate not just a home, but a family’s future. The Sullivan family was graciously sponsored as a Thrivent Build recipient, providing them with support from the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans community.
The family was joined by volunteers who helped build the four bedroom home, including students from Pacific Lutheran University, mother Mrs. Sullivan’s alma mater. During the heartwarming dedication, the family stood proud with bright smiles as their children played in their new front yard.
Homeowner and father Mr. Sullivan chose the home’s colors in honor of Habitat for Humanity. The paint colors were selected more than six months ago but there was plenty of supportive words for local NFL team Seattle Seahawks, who coincidentally share the same colors of the home on their uniforms. “We’re here to stay, time to support the Seahawks!” said Mrs. Sullivan of her home’s paint color.
Surrounded by community, the Sullivans shared a special moment at the conclusion of their dedication as they were handed the keys to their new home and a bright future for their family.
